Documentary letter of credit as a form of international settlements
Abstract
In the context of constantly developing and expanding international trade relations of Russian companies, settlements between counterparties using documentary letters of credit acquire particular relevance. The article describes this form of settlement and substantiates the importance of promoting it within the Russian economy. The authors conclude that it is necessary to increase the scale of use of documentary letters of credit in international settlements as well as in domestic transactions within Russia.
