Import substitution: general characteristics and policy of implementation in Russia
Abstract
The article defines the general characteristics of the import substitution policy, summarizes its advantages and limitations for the national economy, as well as the goals, conditions and mechanisms for implementation. On the example of Russian experience, the prerequisites of import substitution in the country, directions and factors of the state policy of import substitution are considered. Separate assessments of the effectiveness of such policy measures for the purposes of Russia’s economic development are presented.
