Theoretical foundations of international competitiveness of the country

Abstract

The present stage of globalization is characterized not only by the expansion and deepening of cooperation, integration and collaboration, but also by the presence of competition. In this connection, the problem of competitiveness is becoming increasingly important, as the key to the viability of a separate state is the achievement of competitive advantage. In the article, various interpretations of the concept of competitiveness are analyzed and systematized by objects of study; the interrelation of competitiveness at different levels is formulated; and approaches to determining the factors of competitiveness are identified. The author concludes that under modern conditions, international competitiveness is determined by modernization processes, optimization of the industrial structure of the national economy, and consideration of the long-term geo-economic prospects of the country.
