Brazil’s integration interaction in forming the economic competitiveness of the state

Abstract

This article develops and tests a proprietary methodology for assessing a country’s global competitiveness based
on modeling the relationship between macroeconomic integration indicators and gross domestic product growth rates. The
Brazilian economy, considered a representative example of a country with a mixed development structure combining elements of resource specialization and institutional transformation, serves as the empirical basis. The use of correlation and
regression analysis made it possible to identify key drivers of competitiveness and assess their impact. The results indicate
that integration processes are a significant but not decisive factor in economic growth. The effectiveness of their impact
depends on the structural characteristics of the economy, the quality of the institutional environment, and the sustainability
of investment flows
