Economic and political shocks: classification and effect on macroeconomic conditions

Abstract

The macroeconomic environment is vulnerable to various economic and political shocks. The effect of shocks leads to the fact that in a short period, the shock is able not only to cardinally change the activities and expectations of players, but also it might change the volatility of main economic indicators. The article presents the author’s classification of shocks: by spheres of public life, by the type and mechanism of effect, by the degree of market coverage and by the source of the shock.
