Mergers and acquisitions as integration strategy of corporate growth transport and logistics companies

Abstract

Transport and logistics companies play an important role in contemporary international economic relationships. The activity of these companies makes a noticeable infl uence on the world economy, increasing tendencies of globalisation, supporting growing interdependence of international administrative structures and governments. The stability of transport and logistics companies together with political, legal and fi scal stability in the country largely depends on those companies’ effective asset management both on a current moment and in the future. Authors come to conclusion that the most major factor of company’s growth is an optimal choice of development strategy, the most perspective of which is the strategy of mergers and acquisitions. Using this strategy in transport and logistics companies would influence the growth of companies being transformed, growth of the transport system and the country’s economy in whole.
