Abstract

The economic development of Turkmenistan in the period after the collapse of the Soviet Union can be divided into three stages. The most complex and difficult was the first phase (1991–1997 years), which coincided with the period of statehood and economy of the country. The second phase (1998–2008 years) was a period of stabilization, recovery and subsequent growth. The basis for accelerating and dynamic development of Turkmenistan since 2008 was carried out by the authorities of the governmental policy of openness and diversification.
