The founder, publisher, Editorial Board, Editorial Council, editorial office of the journal Economics: Theory and Practice, as well as the authors of publications, adhere in their activities to the principles of publication ethics developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE – The Committee on Publication Ethics).

Ethical Principles for Authors of Scholarly Publications

The journal publishes only articles that may be distributed through open access publishing. Manuscripts bearing any restrictive classification marks are rejected. Submitted manuscripts must correspond to the journal’s scope and sections and comply with the formatting requirements.

Authors must present reliable results of the conducted research. Knowingly erroneous or falsified statements are unacceptable.

Authors must guarantee that the results presented in the submitted manuscript are entirely original. Any borrowed material must be properly cited with mandatory reference to the original author and source.

Authors guarantee that their publication does not violate any copyright and agree to compensate the Publisher for any losses in the event such violations are identified.

All manuscripts undergo mandatory plagiarism screening using the Antiplagiat system. The originality level of the manuscript text must be at least 90%.

Authors must not submit to the journal manuscripts that are under consideration by another journal, nor articles that have already been published in another journal or scholarly publication.

The share of authors’ self-citations in a manuscript must not exceed 10% of the reference list.

All individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research must be listed as co-authors. It is unacceptable to include as co-authors persons who did not participate in the research.

If an error or inaccuracy is discovered in an article during the review process or after publication, the authors must promptly notify the editorial office.

Ethics of Peer Review

Manuscripts are reviewed using a double-blind peer review process: reviewers are not provided with information about the authors (full name, position, academic degree, title, e-mail), and authors are not provided with information about the reviewers.

Only manuscripts that meet the editorial requirements for formatting and text originality are admitted for peer review.

Reviewers guarantee the confidentiality of the manuscript and must not disclose it to third parties or discuss it with persons not authorized by the editorial office.

Reviewers must provide an objective and reasoned assessment of the manuscript in accordance with the peer review requirements. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable.
Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts must not be used by reviewers for personal purposes.

External reviewers (not members of the Editorial Board), when invited by the Editor-in-Chief to review manuscripts, must be acquainted with the “Regulations on Peer Review of Manuscripts in the Journal ‘Economics: Theory and Practice’” and with the journal’s principles of publication ethics.

Reviewers’ comments must be specific and well reasoned.

Reviewers undertake to comply with the review deadlines established by the editorial office and to prepare reviews in accordance with the approved review form.

Ethics of Editorial Decision-Making

The editorial office publishes up-to-date information for authors on the journal’s website, including formatting requirements and the procedures for manuscript consideration and peer review.

During the editing process, the editorial office may make textual corrections without prior agreement with the author (correction of spelling, grammatical, punctuation, and stylistic errors; formatting in accordance with publishing standards), provided that such corrections do not distort the substantive content of the publication.

The final decision on the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the results of peer review. When making this decision, the Editor-in-Chief is guided solely by the scholarly merit of the article; any form of discrimination against authors is unacceptable.

The Editor-in-Chief has the right to send a manuscript for an additional round of peer review to an external reviewer.

The Managing Editor guarantees that manuscripts are reviewed in a confidential and objective manner by a Doctor or Candidate of Sciences who is a recognized specialist in the subject area of the reviewed materials.

The editorial office has the right to reject a manuscript without peer review if it does not correspond to the journal’s scope or formatting requirements.

The editorial office undertakes to promptly consider any claims regarding copyright infringement or violations of publication ethics. If typographical errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies are identified, the editorial office informs readers and all interested parties in the next issue of the journal.

The Editor-in-Chief and the editorial office guarantee the timely publication of journal issues and the prompt posting of full-text articles in the Russian Science Citation Index database.

Conflict of Interest Declaration

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, as well as sources of financial support for the publication (grants, government programs, projects, etc.), which must be explicitly stated in the manuscript.

The editor selects reviewers who are independent of the submitted publication, possess sufficient expertise, and have no conflicts of interest with the authors.

Reviewers must notify the Managing Editor of any conflict of interest with the authors or of any other circumstances that may impede an objective evaluation of the manuscript.
