Forecasting the impact of economic sanctions on the economic development of Russia

Abstract

The article presents an overview of existing theoretical approaches to the study of the concept, types and forms of economic, trade and financial sanctions. Using regression and neural network modeling, a forecast of the impact of macroeconomic indicators (state federal budget, average annual ruble exchange rate, and assets of commercial banks) and economic sanctions on the gross domestic product of the Russian Federation is presented. It is concluded that the national economy of the Russian Federation has demonstrated high stability and rapid adaptability to new negative challenges and uncertainties caused by such environmental factors as economic sanctions and devaluation of the ruble exchange rate.
