Russian nuclear power industry: the imperatives of global competitiveness

Abstract

The article addresses the problems of global and Russian energy development in the context of a number of countries abandoning nuclear power plants after the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. It is concluded that new strategic opportunities determined by the potential for transnationalization of the Russian nuclear power and industrial complex create conditions for strategic competitive dominance of Russian nuclear industry enterprises, primarily in the energy-strategic spaces of the CIS and the SCO.
