Russia’s inland water transport: problems, development prospects, impact of globalization

Abstract

Inland water transport is the most cost-effective when transporting goods to remote and inaccessible regions of the country. At the same time, the organization of its operation is associated with significant problems, determined by both natural and climatic, and organizational and economic factors. For this study, the most significant consideration of the causes that reduce the level of demand for inland waterway transport and justification of measures that contribute to the possibility of ensuring the development of the transport industry in Russia as a whole.
