Methodical approaches to the definition of technical and economic potential of renewable energy in the region

Abstract

Program documents for development of alternative energy in Russia and its regions contain the targets which need to be compared with the possibilities in their achievements. Within the process of estimation of the potential of renewable energy sources in the particular area it is necessary to determine the technical and economic potentials. The traditional method of estimation of the technical potential has some disadvantages, which are leading to the discrepancy of obtained data and the real technical possibilities of applying of renewable sources. For the more correct estimation, the author has proposed the indicator «demand of the technical potential» and presented the algorithm of its estimation.
