Exchange index: essence and scope

Abstract

The article explains the need of putting into scientific operation of the "currency index" category as correlations market (official) exchange rate and purchasing power parity is motivated. The calculation this index for group of the countries is realized; the factors, which infl uence on currency index are discovered. The method of the use the currency index for forecasting of the conditions to foreign economic activity in middle-term prospect is offered.
