The world food problem: analysis and forecast
Abstract
Nowadays the world food problem is a consequence of irrational production and distribution of agricultural raw materials. However, in 20–30 years the shortage of food will become a real problem. The reasons are analyzed and the ways of neutralization the probable food collapse are suggested in the article. The author suggests the solution through the creation of international institution capable to optimize both national food baskets and global structure of production and consumption. The paper also addresses the question of state regulation of food prices, which implies a decrease in profit of agricultural producers and, as a consequence, inhibits the development of the industry.
